Our flagship facility, Rhode Island Hospital, is seeking an Infection Preventionist to join the team. This position investigates hospital acquired infections through the use of advanced surveillance techniques and standard epidemiologic methods and develops and implements policies and procedures related to epidemiology, infection control and infectious diseases.
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Nursing or a related field; evidence of graduate-level courses in microbiology or epidemiology preferred
Three years of experience in hospital epidemiology/infection control
Infection Control certification or eligibility
Demonstrated knowledge of care provided in the tertiary, acute-care hospital to patients throughout the continuum of life with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process
Demonstrated proficiency in database management, spreadsheets, word processing and graphics applications
