About this role: 

As a Director in Epidemiology, you will work within a dedicated epidemiology team housed in the Analytics and Data Sciences (ADS) organization to provide expert epidemiologic support to stakeholders across the company.

What You’ll Do  

• Manage and work with a small team of epidemiologists whose duties include the design of registries/observational studies for disease understanding and post-market safety surveillance, incidence/prevalence estimation, evaluation of safety signals, and critical review of epidemiologic literature
• Interact directly with drug development and post-market program teams to provide strategic insights and concrete deliverables to aid in decision making, advance the program, and meet regulatory requirements 
• Report to the Head, Epidemiology within ADS and will serve on the Epidemiology Leadership Team.

• PhD or ScD (Doctorate in Science) in epidemiology 
• 5+ years relevant post-doctoral research experience, including at least 3 years in a pharmaceutical/biotech company or contract research organization as a pharmacoepidemiologist/epidemiologist (relevant research experience includes research in the areas of disease-based epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, or patient-reported outcomes research
• Demonstrated management skills; ability to manage the work of PhD- and MPH-level epidemiologists
• Excellent methodological skills and data analytics as applied to research epidemiology
• Expertise in epidemiologic critique & synthesis of epidemiologic literature
• Expertise in the design, conduct, analysis, interpretation, and communication of observational studies
• Experience using longitudinal national databases (e.g. NCHS), large claims databases, or electronic medical records (e.g. Optum EHR, CPRD) for epidemiologic research
• Ability to resourcefully provide estimates of incidence and prevalence of health conditions, disease progression and disease-specific risk factors
• Working knowledge of regulatory principles applicable to safety surveillance and pharmacoepidemiology
• Experience with development and/or preparation of post-marketing regulatory reports (e.g., PSUR, RMP)
• Knowledge of questionnaire and case report form design (including PRO/HRQoL)
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting and employ a team approach to decision making
