Target RWE is looking to hire a Senior Epidemiologist and mid-level Epidemiologist in Durham, NC for our recently acquired division, NoviSci. NoviSci seeks to improve outcomes for vulnerable patients with complex health conditions through principled data science.
Our science teams work with external collaborators to solve important problems in medicine and public health. Our software developers and data scientists build cloud-based, web-deployed analytic and visualization tools driven by the needs of our collaborative research.
We are currently hiring a senior research scientist/epidemiologist to lead/assist with research projects using large, observational healthcare databases. The individual will work closely with biostatisticians to implement rigorous study designs and complex analyses.
Job Details/ Main Responsibilities
Develop and write protocols and statistical analysis plans in collaboration with biostatisticians
Communicate frequently with statisticians and engineering staff
Lead research-related reports and publications, including oral and written presentations and manuscripts
Perform other Duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Masters with 2-3 years of professional experience or PhD in Epidemiology or related field. Experience with designing and implementing research studies using complex, real-world data typical in health-care research such as insurance claims or electronic health records. Record of peer reviewed publications preferred. Experience with causal inference preferred.
Education and Experience for Senior Epidemiologist
PhD in Epidemiology or related field. 3+ years prior experience working in a research setting. Record of peer reviewed publications. Experience with causal inference. Experience with designing and implementing research studies using complex, real-world data typical in health-care research such as insurance claims or electronic health records.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong foundational knowledge in epidemiological methods. Fluency with at least once statistical programming language, preferably R. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work on a team. Willingness to travel ~15%.
