Effectively uses computerization in the department to profile IVs, print medication sheets post medications on profiles and labels, determine correct medication dosages, monitor patients, document interventions and perform other valuable services.

Effectively performs drug utilization review studies as required. Reviews and monitors drug therapy and advises physicians of dosing adjustments that could improve patient outcomes

Supervises one or more technicians and students and checks patient medication prior to delivery to patient care areas.  Assists in teaching programs.

Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

Ensures the emergency drugs, as approved by the medical staff, are in adequate and proper supply within the Pharmacy and in the designated hospital areas.

Continually explores innovative methods of increasing the Pharmacyâ™s value to the hospital; submits recommendations to Pharmacy Director.

Provides pharmaceutical care to all ages of patient from newborn to the elderly.

Actively participates in the coordination of interdepartmental program planning and implementation efforts.

Regularly performs studies to measure for a reduction in medication errors.

Complies with all organizational policies and always demonstrates ethical behavior.
